Hello everyone..!!! Welcome to "INTROSPECTION", today I want to discuss "TECHNOLOGY", nowadays everyone is more or less familiar with the technology and the role it is playing in our life, kept on increasing. But there is a lot more to know about technology than the mobiles, desktops, tablets..etc that we use at our home.

LET'S TAKE A LOOK...

From the last 30 to 35 years, as Mr. Obama is saying(in the GIF) technology is evolving so rapidly and has changed various industries. Some industries are hugely impacted due to technology. Like :

ENTERTAINMENT: It is obvious how entertainment has changed with years. Thanks to platforms like Amazon prime video, Netflix, Hotstar..etc. Even music has undergone many changes, we are accessible to any song that we like, through the internet. The video gaming industry is a giant that is being fed by technology(PUBG players can relate). It has emerged as the primary entertainment activity for most of the kids and many youths as well.
LIFESTYLE: Technology has severely altered our lifestyle. Online shopping has given us the privilege to buy our fashion items, furniture, groceries, electronic appliances ..etc by sitting at home. Even booking our tickets or hotels can be done from our home. Most importantly even food is being ordered from home.
EDUCATION: Usage of technology in education has increased a lot during recent times. Many students are habituated to learn the concepts online. Recently many platforms like Byjus, Vedantu, Unacademy...etc are introduced which provide education online. The scope of doing our researches, collaborating with people regarding the subject has also become easier.
COMMUNICATION: The power of communicating with our far-away friends and family has been increased. Communication between businesses and customers has developed a lot. Many companies are more attracted to digital marketing rather than traditional marketing. Customer service has become more efficient than ever.
FINANCE: It is said that we are going through one of the largest transformations in the finance industry due to technology. There's a famous term "FINTECH" used by finance experts and personnel which simply means financial technology. Almost everything in the industry has been digitized. All of the transactions, documents, records..etc are operated online.

These are the sectors which we all know and use, but the fact is that most of us don't acknowledge how far the technology has come and that our previous generations are not benefited from these kinds of technological advancements which made our daily routine a lot simpler than it was. There are other kinds of sectors which are not obvious for every one of us, where technology is having an impact. Let's consider...

HEALTH: Health industry is also one such industry where technology has a primary role in its functioning. Technology is helping to create a patient-centric health care system that can improve response time, reduce human error, and save costs. Technology is bridging the gap and altering the way the doctors and patients are interacting with each other.

Electronic medical records(EMR) help track patients' health data and support medical decisions.
Remote monitoring is also one of the most useful and practical innovations in recent years. These monitoring systems are useful in monitoring. They can be used by patients at home to reduce costs and time associated with recurring visits to the doctor.
There's a startup called "CLOUDMEDX" which utilizes a technology called "NATURAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING" to obtain deep learning from existing data from electronic medical records. The company's AI assistant subsequently helps doctors and patients in making data-driven decisions. This technology has been applied in several areas like congestive heart failure, liver cancer, renal failure, orthopedic surgery with promising results.
Another company called "MCKESSON HEALTH CARE" introduced an app called "MYVOICE MOBILE APP" which is based on software that anticipates our words based on our interactions on social media. This is highly helpful for people with speaking disabilities. We can also program commonly used phrases into the app and link those phrases to the GPS to pull up the phrases at the right time at the right place.

SECURITY: Security is one of those sectors which has seen some serious advancements due to technology. Technology has vastly helped many organizations improve their security. There are some groundbreaking advancements like fingerprint authentication, Retina scanning, voice recognition...etc that occurred due to technology. From "locking our mobiles and apps" to "security of mighty financial organizations and data-centric companies", several developments have taken place, like :

Knightscope is an American company that has built a robot security guard, which operates 24/7 and patrols in the place you assigned, on its own including autonomously recharging itself without human intervention. It is said that they have already operated 1 million hours and are very successful with the outcome.
Versive is another company that helps businesses and organizations identify crucial threats and helps teams to save time that might otherwise be spent investigating alerts that don't require immediate attention. They use artificial intelligence to separate critical risks from routine network activity.
Logrhythm helps companies to detect cyber threats, they use machine learning to know about accessing accounts by unauthorized personnel, misuse of privileges for particular user accounts, and other anomalies, which in turn helps in responding quickly.

RETAIL: Technology is changing the way businesses operate. From supplier end to customer end technology has changed the operation of the retail industry in many ways. Some of the technologies like online tracking of the goods have been proved to be very customer friendly.

Goods or inventory or merchandise at warehouses can easily be tracked using RFID(radio frequency identification), in which goods have smart labels that are detected by radio waves. Due to this, in warehouses which are having a large number of goods can be identified easily. This technology paves the way to store a large number of stocks without any problem.
In 2018, the U.S grocery chain "Kroger" has come out with revolutionary technology of "Digital tags" across hundreds of stores, where stores can digitally display pricing, nutritional information, and all the other essential details of a product and remotely update it.
Starbucks has come out with a technology called "GEOFENCING" which uses GPS to create virtual boundaries around physical locations. So when any of their previous customers enter into this zone, receives the notification about the coupons, offers available on that day, that their favorite seasonal latte is on sale. Even customers can pay for what they want online and then head to their local Starbucks to pick up the order.
L'oreal Paris has released an app called "MAKEUP GENIUS" which lets its customers apply virtual makeup online and choose according to their requirements.
Amazon is way ahead in the usage of technology in its warehouses. Many high tech tools like robotic arms, robots, and many more. One of their warehouses has a conveyor belt of 11 miles.

AGRICULTURE: Agriculture is one such sector which is very essential for the survival of humans. These sectors usually involve a lot of risks as it is highly dependent on weather and climatic conditions which cannot be controlled by us. But even in this type of sector technology has brought better results than ever.

Mothive, Cropx are different agricultural data and analytics companies. They use different kinds of technologies like cloud-based software and special devices which help farm owners to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, improve the predictability and control of crops. They also predict and inform farmers about the right time to harvest crops, predict diseases, and improve yields.
Arable is the company that has developed the world's first IOT based irrigation management tool, weather station, and crop monitor.
All these technologies are helping farmers to get the best possible outcomes from their crops by conserving the environment.

That's it..!!! I am going to conclude the post. But the takeaway from this post is that we are living in an era where everything is changing so fast than ever due to technology. To make it simple "This is internet era and we are so privileged to be born in it" and it's completely up to you that whether you're going to utilize it or not.

yes..!! there will be debates that technology is also hurting us, but it only happens when we let technology control us, rather than us controlling the technology. So have an eye on that as well.
